Test the hyperlinks, all of them
A digital planner is only as good as its navigation. Open it in the app it was built for and tap through the tabs, the month links and the daily pages. Broken internal links are the most common fault in this category and the easiest to check while your payment is still protected.
Dated, undated, or both
A dated planner expires; an undated one you set up yourself and keep. Listings state which you are getting. If you are buying partway through a year, undated is usually the better value.
Know which app it was built for
GoodNotes, Notability and Samsung Notes handle hyperlinks, stickers and page insertion differently. Listings name the app the planner was tested in. A planner that works beautifully in one can lose its navigation in another.
