If you are buying

Read the licence before you pay. The licence named on the listing is the whole of what you are buying — a commercial licence is not an extended one, and neither transfers ownership. If the scope is unclear, ask in the deal chat so the answer is on the record.
Test everything before you confirm delivery. Confirming releases the money and closes the escrow. If the files are incomplete, do not match the listing, or the licence differs from what was advertised, open a dispute instead of confirming.
Keep the invoice and the deal chat. They are your evidence of what was promised, what was delivered, and on what terms.
You may use what you bought under the stated licence. You may not resell, redistribute or relist the asset itself, or pass it to another party as your own work, unless you bought exclusive rights.

If you are selling

You must be the author, or hold a written licence that permits resale. Attesar verifies who you are, not what you own — if a rights-holder proves otherwise, the listing is removed, the sale is reversed, and repeat cases end the account.
Describe exactly what is included and what is not. Most disputes here are not fraud; they are a buyer who expected the demo content, the fonts, or the support that was never actually part of the package.
Keep your proof of ownership. Source files, commit history, purchase receipts for anything third-party, and the licences that let you redistribute it. You may be asked for them, and having them ready is what turns a complaint into a closed ticket.
Set the licence deliberately. It is what the buyer is paying for, and it binds you as much as them — an exclusive sale means you stop selling that item to anyone else.

What goes wrong specifically with editorial layouts

Font licences are narrow and scope-specific

Buyer: A font is not "buy once, use anywhere". Check the number of seats, webfont pageview caps, whether app and ebook embedding are allowed, and whether you may convert formats. Typeface names and designs can be protected independently of the software file.
Seller: You must own the outlines or hold a licence permitting resale. Do not sell modified copies of licensed fonts, close imitations of protected typefaces, or files converted from a desktop-only licence. Include your EULA in the package and state desktop, web, app and embedding scope in the listing.

Demo images, icons and fonts are rarely included

Buyer: Photos, icon sets, fonts and audio shown in a preview are usually licensed to the author alone and cannot be passed on. Assume you must replace or separately license them before launch unless the listing states in writing that redistribution rights are included.
Seller: You may only redistribute third-party assets when the licence explicitly permits it. Standard stock licences do not. Either buy a redistribution licence, or ship placeholders and list exactly what the buyer must supply. Naming the assets you did not create protects you as much as the buyer.

Check a physical proof before any print run

Buyer: Screen colour is not print colour. Confirm bleed, colour profile, resolution and cut lines with your printer, and order a proof before a production run — a reprint is your cost, not the seller's.
Seller: State bleed, colour profile (CMYK or Pantone), resolution, fonts used and cut lines. Do not include dielines, structural packaging shapes or trade dress copied from an existing brand's packaging.

Will I need to buy the typefaces?

Usually yes — editorial typography is rarely licensed for redistribution. The listing should name which fonts it expects so you can license them yourself.

How is this different from Print & Stationery?

Can I edit it in Canva instead of InDesign?

Only if the listing offers a Canva version. An INDD file cannot be meaningfully opened in Canva, and conversions lose the styles that make the template useful.

Can I send it straight to a printer?

Listings state whether bleed and printer marks are set up. Confirm colour profile and bleed with your printer before committing to a run.
